KRISTEN STEWART: I Like To Google Myself

Source: anythinghollywood.com --- Monday, October 31, 2011
Hollywood news has learned that "Twilight" star KRISTEN STEWART likes to Google herself, which is pretty surprising since she usually gives off this "I don't care about being a celebrity, getting my pictures taken, and wearing pretty dresses" vibe. But yeah, believe it or not, Kristen does have her vain, girly-girl moments. While we all know that she has a bit of an aversion to fame , in her recent interview with Glamour UK, Kristen admitted that she sometimes likes to Google herself so she can see how she looks on the red carpet. She said: "I do like to look at what I wear… It's not like I put on a fucking dress and don't care about it after." She added: "I love choosing stuff to wear, and my publicist always calls and asks, 'Do you wanna do something like this? [go to shows] And if I'm not busy, I'm definitely interested. I'm going to one thing — either Burberry or Mulberry, I'm not sure." Although she wears a lot of pretty dresses on the red carpet, Kristen revealed that her go-to outfit will always be a sloppy shirt, a pair of comfy jeans, and sneakers. "There's something about wearing jeans, trainers and a sloppy t-shirt everywhere you go that seems very southern California to me." image via WENN ...

The End of Days for Google Reader Is Here

Source: www.theatlanticwire.com --- Monday, October 31, 2011
As previously announced, Google is rolling out a sleek new design and pulling the plug on Reader's social features at the end of the day on Monday. The new Google Reader matches the recently jazzed up design of Google Search, Google Docs and Google News — not to mention this leaked preview of a Gmail redesign . Feature-wise, there's tighter integration with Google+, including the addition of +1 buttons that are replacing the old "Like" feature. Much to the dismay of a small but passionate community of Google Reader fanatics known as Sharebros, however, Google is also removing the classic Reader sharing features in order to integrate more content into Google+. These are not welcome changes.  Google software engineer Alan Green explains in an official blog post : Integrating with Google+ also helps us streamline Reader overall. So starting today we'll be turning off friending, following, shared items and comments in favor of similar Google+ functionality. We hope you'll like the new Reader (and Google+) as much as we do, but we understand that some of you may not. Retiring Reader's sharing features wasn't a decision that we made lightly, but in the end, it helps us focus on fewer areas, and build an even better experience across all of Google. The immediate reaction from the Sharebro community was dour. "This is the 11,142nd and last item I'll ever share on Google Reader," said Zach Seward, a  Wall Street Journal editor on Google R ...

Google Reader Gets a Redesign, Adds Google+ Integration

Source: mashable.com --- Monday, October 31, 2011
Google has begun rolling out a new version of Google Reader, one that sports a brand-new design and deep integration with Google+ . The new Google Reader sports a more spartan interface. It's similar to the Google Calendar redesign and Gmail makeover the search giant launched earlier this year. The greater change is the addition of Google+ sharing. Google has replaced the "Like" button with the +1 button, which lets users share content to their Google+ accounts. Reader users with a Google+ login can choose which circles they'd like to share articles to using Google+ snippets . The Google+ integration replaces the Google Reader social features the company unveiled in 2009. "Integrating with Google+ also helps us streamline Reader overall," Google Engineer Alan Green said in a " target="_blank">blog post . "So starting today we'll be turning off friending, following, shared items and comments in favor of similar Google+ functionality." While Google Reader's notes got some usage, dropping them in favor of Google+ is the logical move for a company that is now trying to unify all of its social efforts under one banner. The company recently killed off Buzz while adding Google+ to Maps . What do you think of the new Google Reader? Let us know in the comments. More About: Google , Google reader , Top News ...

"As expected, Google has ignored the cries of the niche community of Google Reader sharing..."

Source: tumblr.careyalexander.com --- Monday, October 31, 2011
"As expected, Google has ignored the cries of the niche community of Google Reader sharing enthusiasts (as well as what seems to be the entire online population of Iran), and has pushed forward in its plans to remove Google Reader's native sharing features to promote deeper integration with Google . While the ability to share with Google is an obvious important step forward for Google's social agenda, it will be disappointing change for at least some of the Google Reader community – a community that even went so far as to create a petition to save the old features. The petition is now pushing 10,000 responses." - And Here It Is: The New Google Reader Revealed I'm going to do all my content sharing over at The Things They Shared if you'd like to follow along. ...

Perché Google Reader non è più adatto a me

Source: www.blogmac.eu --- Monday, October 31, 2011

GDrive test page pops up in Google search, inches closer to an actual product

Source: dominicfallows.com --- Monday, October 31, 2011
The GDrive leaks and rumors have started up again in earnest, really for the first time since 2007 . The service seemed to destined for the dustbin when Docs started accepting any type of file, but in September hints started dropping that Drive may be resurrected. The latest interesting, if not entirely telling development, is a link to a "test page for Platypus (GDrive)" that pops up when you Google "Writely," the online word processor that eventually became Google Docs. Those with more robust memories may remember that Platypus was the codename attached to Google's cloud storage solution back when it was originally being dogfooded. Clicking on the link takes you Google Docs, just as any Writely.com URL would, but that does line up nicely with what we've heard about Drive being a rebranded Docs — potentially with a file syncing component. Hopefully the Mountain View crew will take the covers off this bad boy soon — we can't take much more of this mystery and intrigue stuff. Google Reader Gets The Google Plus Treatment

Source: feedjunkie.com --- Monday, October 31, 2011
After announcing on October 20 that Google Reader would be annexed by Google Plus, Reader has gotten the ol' +1 today. Google is rolling out the new, clean Google Plus theme that has already come to Gmail, Docs and elsewhere, and it is replacing the Google Reader "Like" function with the +1 button. Sharing from Google Reader now produces a +snippet. I guess we no longer need that nice workaround. But it's not all plusses on Google Reader today. Ya disponible la nueva versión de Google Reader

Source: www.dekazeta.net --- Monday, October 31, 2011
