In a tweet posted on the Gmail Twitter account, Google acknowledged that the app designed for Apple's iOS operating system, which powers the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch, contained a bug associated with a notifications feature in the program. Google said it has been temporarily pulled to fix the problem. "Sorry we messed up," Google wrote. Users of Apple's devices can certainly still use Gmail, as they've long been able to do with ease. The specific app designed for iOS, however, is designed to offer a fuller experience with Google's email software, by enhancing it with sound notifications of new messages and a speedy search capability within an inbox. Google said in a blog post Wednesday that the Gmail app for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch will be "fast, efficient and take full advantage of the touchscreen and notification capabilities of your device." "And it's one more reason to switch to Gmail," Google added. In an update to the blog post, Google wrote that it has removed the Gmail app while it's corrected, and is working to bring out a new version soon. ...
