In this edition of the Affiliate Buzz audio newsletter James Martell, successful publisher, speaker and author talks with wife and co-host Arlene Martell about yet another Google update, the Panda 2.5. But don't rush off and start checking your site rankings to see if you've been affected. At least not yet. With every algorithm change there is the dreaded fluctuation in rankings and ultimately in your traffic. What follows then seems to be a rather predictable scenario, panic. Webmasters across the globe rush to their statistics and the moment they see any change you can find them in the forums blaming Google for ruining their business. But what if there was more to it than that? The truth is there are many factors that could result in a drop to your search rankings that may be relatively simple to correct. For example James shares an email from a concerned webmaster whose primary site had dropped in rankings on his main income pages and how it had occurred soon after Google's update. After a taking the time to stop and think they were able to identify the true cause for his lost traffic and a simple solution to getting it back. But What About Social Media? I Bet That's Why I Was Bumped. Soon to follow panic is the guessing game, "I lost my rankings because my articles are too long" or "I know it's because I don't utilize enough social media around my site."
